THE POWER OF REISHI

Sep 26 Written By Rachel Headings

The Reishi mushroom has been called “The King of Herbs” because it has so many health benefits. The Reishi mushroom is packed with nutritional properties and antioxidants which are essential for healthy functioning cells.

Ganoderma is the active ingredient in the Reishi mushroom and is a powerhouse for the immune system. Ganoderma is well studied in the literature and is well known for its immune boosting, adaptogenic, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties.

Reishi has 3 main parts to it: the spores (seeds), mycelium (root), and Ganoderma (fruiting). Each part of the mushroom have different healing properties. Mycelium is known for decreasing anxiety and nerve pain. Spore powder is a potent immune boosting agent and my ‘go-to’ for an anti-viral or anything inflamed. The Ganoderma or fruiting part of the mushroom is a great source of antioxidants.

One of my favorite ways to get Reishi into my body is through Reishi coffee and beverages. Each beverage from the Reishi beverage company I love, contains a measured amount of Ganoderma. This way, I am reassured that each sip contains Ganoderma.

What I have noticed in my health since starting the Reishi coffee 2-3 cups per day is:

  • Improved sleep

  • Calm relaxed and focused brain

  • Less anxiety

  • More positive outlook

  • Robust energy

  • Less body pain

  • Improved digestion

I had given up coffee before I tried Gourmet Reishi coffee. I was pleasantly surprised I could tolerate this kind of coffee, and it tastes so good. It is easy to prepare and comes in single packets which is excellent for travelling.
